Dear J. Goldman,Before I start reviewing your work, Robin and Marian, I have this to say first:I loathe you right now. . .and yet I cannot help loving you.Reason for my loathing, you ask?Your ending to this story/movie script.Do not misunderstand me, I loved the way it ended.

I would never ask for this to be redone. It moved me in such a happy-heartbreaking way. If I could have been you- I would have ended it this way.No, I loathe you at this moment, simply because you made me cry. Yes, at the close I found myself bawling my eyes out in my hotel tub- in Oglebay Park, Wheeling, WV- a wash cloth smothering my sobs.I must congratulate you on making me express that deep, gut wrenching, painful, bittersweet happiness. It was amazing to find this hidden on a shelf at my local antiques mall in my hometown. And I will admit I bought this solely on two things: Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn on the cover, and its about Robin and Marion. Both of these factors pushed me to ante up the 50 cents and ignore the cashiers sniggers about my glee in finding this book. This was everything I ever wanted from a screenplay adaption.

The brief blurbs about why you sought to write this, what you researched, and lastly the tales of behind the movie before it got off the ground. Loved it!I actually wish I couldve had this during high school, Robins brief monologue on pg.136-7 would have been used during my theatre class. In all honesty, if you were still alive, Id hunt you down and make you sign my copy- I dont even think theres a chance to get Connery to sign it.Now, Im off to get a DVD-copy of Robin and Marian.
